The National Coalition for Advanced Transportation (NCAT) is a cross-sectoral coalition of leading companies – including electric vehicle manufacturers, charging equipment suppliers and utilities – that support policies to promote electric vehicle and other advanced transportation technologies and related infrastructure.
Electric and other advanced technology vehicles are a central element of many companies’ business plans, and of city, state and regional economic development strategies. These technologies offer major benefits: economic growth, job creation, infrastructure modernization, U.S. competitiveness, energy security, consumer choice, and cost effective reduction of pollution. Success depends on increasing commercial availability of advanced technology vehicles attractive to consumers.
NCAT was established to work with key stakeholders to address near-term industry challenges and to provide constructive input to federal and state government agencies as they update fuel economy, greenhouse gas and other regulations affecting the transportation sector. NCAT supports regulatory strategies that appropriately encourage and reward the development and deployment of advanced transportation technologies.
